The Cleveland Archival Roundtable & Lake View Cemetery
Invite you to a spring tour of historic Lakeview Cemetery
12316 Euclid Avenue
Saturday May 15, 2010
Lake View Cemetery , founded in 1869, was modeled after the garden cemeteries of Victorian England as a living memorial. With a full time horticulturalist, the 285 acre grounds contain rare plants and flowers, including Daffodil Hill, a collection of over 100,000 bulbs, now in full bloom. Lake View is home to many famous residents including President James Garfield, John D. Rockefeller, Garrett Morgan, Adella Prentiss Hughes, and Eliot Ness.
Our tour will begin at the Garfield Monument . Mary C. Krohmer, Director of Community Relations, will provide a brief presentation on the cemetery and the historical information that is maintained. We will then have a walking tour and visit the Wade Chapel, designed by Louis Comfort Tiffany, section 10 of the grounds, and the Garfield monument.
Please RSVP to Fred Lautzenheiser at firstname.lastname@example.org by May 7, 2010.
