Description: Assist the Nature Center at Shaker Lakes as they prepare for a 50th Anniversary celebration by archiving the history of this grass-roots organization. Volunteers will assist in organizing, categorizing and digitizing historical primary source documents on behalf of the Nature Center at Shaker Lakes.
Qualifications: Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills are a must. An archivist or librarian background is preferred. An understanding of non-profit structure and best practices is helpful. Knowledge of computer systems will be needed to scan and save past grant documents is needed. Training and oversight will be provided by project lead and the Volunteer Coordinator.
Minimum Time Commitment: This project will run from March to October 2015. Volunteers are asked to commit to 2-3 shifts per week of 2-3 hours. Shifts are flexible.
Location: Off site location near the Nature Center.
Supervision: Assistants report to the Volunteer Coordinator for the Nature Center at Shaker Lakes.
