The Shaker Historical Society is seeking a part-time summer 2023 intern to construct a new institutional archive in the Elizabeth Nord Library and Archives to help the museum preserve, collect, and tell our story. The intern will gain hands-on experience describing and processing an institutional archive using DACS and will be able to demonstrate knowledge of archival standards through a publicly accessible finding aid. The intern will be trained on and build experience with archival practices and standards, arrangement and description, and, if time permits, digitization.
This is a temporary, 200-hour summer internship at the Shaker Historical Society in Shaker Heights, Ohio with an anticipated start date of June 1, 2023. The intern is expected to work 20-24 hours per week and will be compensated at $17.00 per hour.
